“I’m a rare book librarian. I get to touch books every single day. My colleague and I have a joke that we are Defenders of Wonder. A physical book assigns a sense of reverence to the content inside. It’s the same feeling you get when you look at a painting or hear a piece of music. And I think that’s something worth defending. And just like a book gives reverence to it’s content, I think the library gives reverence to books. The building itself is a masterpiece. So many famous thinkers have come here to study and write. Just being here connects you to that lineage.”

Uhmmmm.. holy shit. I’d wear almost all of these
Why does horror comedy always seem to be splatter? Every time you hear the term, it's going to be a comedy framed up with some horror tropes, and then some special effects violence thrown in.
Why not psychological horror comedy? Something that titters just on the border of too-silly-to-be-scary but also too-creepy-to-be-funny, the characters are just a little bit too off-the-kilter to be goofily relatable, there's something actually wrong with these people. The vibe and the atmosphere is intolerable but in a way that makes you burst out in tense and nervous giggles.
The film never actually explicitly states what happens to the characters who don't make it, but as much as someone's slip and fall into The Thing is silly on first watch, the more you think about the varying possibilities, the more aware you become that there's literally no option here that wouldn't be a fate worse than death.
You hate this film, you hate it, you hated watching it, but can't unsee it and it lives rent free in your head now. You make your friends watch it - promising it's funny - because you don't want to suffer life with this cursed experience alone.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
how am I supposed to carry on living a normal, natural life, with the awareness that you just gave me.
